I was searching for some free data visualization software (to create “mind maps” of my hair-brained schemes), and I found tableau software. One of the demos of their software is a data visualization of graffiti incidents and resolution actions in NYC. This is obviously intended as a tool for the city to track crime and property damage, and demonstrate to the affected public and businesses that action is being taken, but it could also be a powerful tool to help the graffiti artist discover spots that get buffed infrequently or as a messenger service that tells them it’s time to get back out and paint a wall that has been cleaned..
