Honduras is pulling out of Iraq. Why? Don’t look for answers in the mainstream media. They think Honduras’ affiliation with Spain is the reason (Y’know, they both speak Spanish!). Other sources suggest the pullout is in outrage at the new US Ambassador to Iraq. John Negroponte was ambassador to Honduras during the Iran-contra fiasco, in which many Hondurans lost their lives to counter-revolutionary death squads. Negroponte maintains there were no death squads.
And if you’re really bored, here’s an account of Negroponte’s time in Iraq from one of his senior advisor’s future memoir, They Kicked Our Asses: An Iraq Diary.
